Our seagrass Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) protects the seagrass meadows of Vanga Bay while supporting the fishing community who rely on them to feed themselves and their families and make a living from the sea, putting the local community at the heart of conservation.

While donations to the LMMA are not carbon credits, they provide a similar financial incentive for local people to protect the environment. Donations will fund conservation activities and a community benefit fund for members of the fishing community.
